POLL: Burn Out Cancelled; Are There Too Many Music Festivals?
Burn Out Festival, due to take place in Bournemouth, England this weekend, has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. The two-day event only shifted 250 tickets despite some being offered for as little as £13. The indoor event was due to see performances from Kids In Glass Houses, We Are The Ocean, Mallory Knox, Blitz Kids, The Skints, Bleed From Within and many more.
With many popular UK rock bands appearing, why did Burn Out fail to sell out? Could it be that there are simply too many festivals to choose from? Perhaps, revellers chose to spend their weekend at Global Gathering, Lounge On The Farm, Redfest or another festival instead.
This year alone has already seen the cancellation of Hop Farm, Hevy, Isle Of Man and the absence of Merthyr Rock, Sonisphere UK and Summer Sundae among many others. Is it time to admit that the UK festival circuit is overcrowded?
Are there too many festivals? What do YOU think?
